Youth Support
The community has the compelling task to develop and challenge the youth in a positive way. Those societies, which abuse or ignore this philosophy must eventually accept an existential disasters. The Civics club has taken up the challenge of youth development in Namibia. Within the frame work of support by the Buschschule an essential contribution to global youth work is made, especially by creating a platform for encounters between European and African youth.
"Work with the youth must be exciting, creative and realistic. It must have playful, educational and productive content. It also must portray a provocative challenge for the youth. " Helmut Scharnowski, president of the Civics and director of the Buschschule Namibia.
Since 2004 the club has created training for young players from 9 up to the age of 19. Due to the lack of official leagues for these youngsters our Youth Manager Mario Carreira has founded a social league for the U 17 and U 19 while a U 9, U 11 and a U 13 Team is playing occasionally at School tournaments.
Since June 2007 the Namibian Football Association took over the responsibility of the league for the U 17 teams and created the "Khomas under 17 Youth Soccer League". Our club is participating with two teams (Civics I is a U 17 team, while Civics II is a U 15 team).Civics is publishing the results and the log standing under U17 Youth League Table.
