Civics got back to winning ways with a convincing 4-1 victory against Oshakati City at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on December 2.
Civics took an early lead from a Rudi Louw freekick when the ball deflected off Oshakati defender Jona Ndinoshiho into the net.
With Louw and Brian Gurirab running strong in midfield, more chances came Civics' way, with Floris Diergaardt just shooting wide in the 19th minute.
Diergaardt finally found the net with a great volley in the 30th minute after a fine solo run by Brian Brendell.
Pacy Chilufya Just before halftime the pacy William Chilufya beat Alfred Munyaza to a long upfield clearance to slot the ball past an advancing Melksidek Shiku in Oshakati's goals.
Oshakati applied more pressure after the break, but it was Civics who went up 4-0 after a quick counterattack in the 59th minute when Diergaardt scored his second from a Brian Gurirab throughball. Oshakati kept on attacking and came close to scoring through Raymond Makusa, Lazarus Shitula and substitute Rafael Nuumbembe.
They finally opened their account in the 81st minute when Nuumbembe provided a cross for Frans Kuume to score from close range.
In the dying minutes, Civics' goalie Sitali Mulife brought off a fine save from a close range shot by Chepela Chepela.
For Civics Gurirab had a great match, while Floris Diergaardt, who missed most of last season through injury, also added an extra dimension to their attack. Not much was however seen of their other new striker, Geoffrey Roman, who came on as a second half substitute.
